Cicada is an insect working long hours in a large gray office building. His co-workers are hostile and do not appreciate him and the work he has performed for sevteen years. Life for him is hard.
Shaun Tan has created a special picture book. The art combines with the almost-haiku texts to convey the feeling of being underappreciated and not fitting into the general pattern of things.
